Our Vision for Better Streets in Ealing
Better Ealing Streets is a group for local residents who believe our streets and public spaces can be healthier, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone, no matter their age or ability.
Our goals go hand in hand:
-
To make our streets safer and easier to get around by walking, cycling, or wheeling.
-
To reduce reliance on private cars by making alternatives more appealing and practical.
We also want Ealing’s streets to be vibrant spaces where people can connect, relax, and thrive—whether through pocket parks, greenery, or community events.
By working with residents, the council, and other organisations, we aim to support and highlight positive initiatives that encourage people to choose alternatives to car travel wherever possible.

Ealing Residents' Calls For Action
The moment we leave the house and start to walk or cycle on our road, we're confronted with cars and large vans, often speeding and driven impatiently. This happens right outside our houses, on a narrow street, throughout the day, every day
RB, Seward
Ealing Council need to understand that every day I and my family feel most at risk from road danger, above all else.
PJ, Hanwell
I don’t have a car and would love to cycle with my children for short to medium distance journeys however due to the dangerous roads locally I do not feel safe to do so - limiting my transport choices, increasing my travel costs and reducing opportunities for me and my children to be active.
